"Green" Cycle Products

So here's the deal. I'm into "Green" or Re-Usable Menstrual Products. Yeah, I know...to most, it's kind of odd. Our society is into disposable everything. A few years ago, a local Mama friend of mine asked if I could possibly make her some cloth pads. I had sewing skills and she wanted to pick her own prints, etc. Trust me, I really didn't know what to think at the time. I did some research and found TONS of info about these "green" products and I came across several free patterns during my search. I made the pads and they turned out adorable!

I was familiar with cloth diapering (I had done it for a while with my youngest child) so the whole re-usable thing didn't freak me out that much. I ended up making myself a few and that was really all it took. I listed a few in my Etsy shop and people actually bought them. I was shocked that there was a market for such a thing! Then, I stumbled across a blog post for a Menstrual Cup. Wow...just W-O-W. Menstrual Cups have been around since the 80's. Why have I never heard of this thing??

I started doing tons of research on Disposables vs. Re-Usables. It was a real eye opener to think of the chemicals and bleach used in pads and tampons to make them nice and white. Then, I ended up finding a post showing a moldy Kotex tampon. YUCK!! I was completely grossed out. Women put this product into their bodies every month. Unreal...

Here's a pic of the moldy tampon. Nice, huh??!!

That's why I've decided to promote/make/sell these products. It's simple. Less Chemicals, Less Garbage, Less money spent on products. What's so hard about that? It's a healthy, cost effective and environmentally friendly change in your life. There's no risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome with these products!!

To make a long story short, I have lots of cute cloth pads, all shapes, sizes and prints listed on my website.
You can find them HERE
